I have always been in love with the technical side of our sport. Improving the design of boards and sails has been a passion of mine since I started windsurfing over 25 years ago.
Ive been so fortunate to have worked with some of the best sail and board designers in the world, which has ultimately got me to where I am today.
My passion for competing has now switched to finding big wave sailing spots around the globe. The elements in nature have to align correctly to create the perfect day and that’s what motivates me each day, to find that perfect wave. They are so rare but once you have experienced that feeling of dropping into a remote wave in the middle of nowhere you can understand where my drive comes from.
Equipment needs to be working perfectly and I choose to use sails that are free and light with the power curve situated low so I have more control.
I think that confidence comes from understanding and trusting your equipment 100%, so you can push boundaries and break records.
